Georgina was born in Westchester in 1983, two years after his father was fired from Salomon Brothers and has used his $ 10 million severance package to start their own company, Bloomberg LP (which is now reportedly worth $ 25 billion, the mayor is said to hold assets of 20 billion dollars). When Georgina was 7, the Bloombergs moved to a residence on 79th Street, between Fifth and Madison Avenue, where the mayor resides today. Mike and Susan divorced in 1993 after 17 years of marriage. "The divorce was the best thing that ever happened," Georgina says with a warm smile. "I went from having parents who do not get along and never wanted to be around each other, to have parents who are friends." The split was so friendly, in fact, that the Bloombergs all continued to live under one roof for one year after separation, until Susan started attending property magnate Richard and Georgina Chapman, then 10, moved with his mother and Emma 67 Street to his house. In 2001, Georgina, 18, has discovered that his father intends to run for mayor the day she graduated from the Spence School, an academy for elite all-girls private on the Upper East Side, where it says at the bottom end his class. Georgina was only in February, the longest time was spent outside of a relationship since he was 16 years. "I have no desire to have a boyfriend right now," he says.
